Gaura - Gaudi Pink

Gaura - Gaudi Pink

Gaura Gaudi Rose or Gaudi Pink are beautiful flowers for the garden. Non-stop summer flowers with compact neat foliage.

I have mine growing at the top of a small rockery in full sun for most of the day and they have done really well in their first summer. Can be grown in pots.

Attracts small to medium sized hoverflies and some small bees.

Grows 16" high and 20" wide.

Hardy and perennial (in the right position so the label says). I haven't had them long enough to say how well they survive in a very harsh winter, but this summer they have been gorgeous.

Update: one year on, I lost 2 out of the 3 plants I had. All were planted in a well drained sunny spot on a rockery. On inspection, the roots had almost disappeared. Seeking further information about these plants, I found that they really do need exceptionally well drained soil otherwise you will lose them - they do not like to be kept damp. So, the reason I lost 2 of mine was due to a very wet winter, very wet spring and early summer. The remaining one is however thriving.
